RIGA — The exhibition, organised by a group of youth sociologists at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, aims to highlight the path towards creative synergy of science, art and decision making, and is on view in the house of parliament of the Republic of Latvia following the successful debut at the University of Latvia several months earlier. Created within the frame of international scientific conference «Youth: Opportunities and Risks», the project enables active youngsters to voice their aspirations, impressions of the surrounding world, and ideas. At the same time, the exhibition in unusual way compliments the diverse findings of youth researchers, including those accumulated at the Institute during more than two decades.

The opening ceremony was marked by welcome speeches of Solvita Āboltiņa, Speaker of the Saeima, and Ilze Trapenciere, sociologist at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology.

A photo stories contest, which became the starting point for the exhibition, was based on the task of creating a series of photos connected by some idea, and complimented by a free-form essay. All the submissions underwent evaluation by a jury that comprised of professional photo artists, art scientists and philosophers. Then, only the best works found their way to the conference venue. The layout and technical implementation were completed by a student of Latvia Culture college, Laura Strazdiņa.

Co-operation partners: the National Centre for Education and the Centre of creative learning «Annas 2».
